Good day. Early watched the sandhill cranes starting to fly north in massive ragged V formations. Drove in amazed not one campsite on the spur road occupied. Mid maples and off trail pretty good. On up most seem nipped by the cold weather and already browning. The light was bad at the Aspen so unable to tell if golden or mostly green. Seems 1-2 more of them are down, and the maples were spotty red.
Back down went off trail and on a bear trail that goes thru some almost glowing red trees. Light rain started and I didn't have any gear but decided to just sit under a boulder if it got serious which it didn't during my time there. Saw some more people on the trail, but not many. The sky was beautiful on the drive out with massive free form clouds sitting low.
