Hike #3 of the PHX5 set of Phoenix Summit Challenge Hikes is the Pyramid (Gila) Trail. The route took the first loop of the Cholla Flats Loop instead of staying on the old Pyramid Trail. There were some signs and markings for the Summit Challenge, but they could have done a better job marking the correct trail at junctions.

I thought we were going to the top of the hill, but the "summit" flag was only about 1/3 of the way up. According to a ranger I spoke with at the bag pickup a week earlier there wasn't enough time to have us go all the way to the top. It would have added at least another 20 minutes so I guess that makes sense. Another easy and uneventful hike.
