With some clouds moving in around 4pm, we headed out to SoMo in hopes of a good sunset. Headed up Lost Mine, which was atrociously hot. Slight breeze on National. The hoped for color appeared as we headed east. Lots of stopping to take pics. The color lasted a good 45 minutes.

We skipped Goat Hill since that side trail usually has a lot of cholla and I didn’t want to deal with it with the dog. Crossed paths with Daniel, whom I have seen on SoMo many times over the years. Lots of emergency vehicles parked at the Kiwanis trailhead, near the Summit Road above Kiwanis, and near Scorpion Gulch. At least a dozen total, probably more. The breeze and color faded as we headed down Gila /Pyramid, but temps were cooler by that point.
