| no partners | | This is part 2 cause those are the photos I processed first. I made my way over to this area because I had not done much in depth exploring and there are a lot of old/ newer mining camps of historic interest. The first part was done not on the preserve because I wanted to get underground and wanted to collect if I could.
It was nice and had a remote feel even tho it is mostly sandwiched between I-40 and I-15, two busy interstates. Storms came in and dampened some of the hiking but I just put on the wind and rain gear and had at it. There are a few smudges in the photos tho because I didn't pick up on smears on the lens.
I did not see another person while hiking or driving on the dirt roads. I found some nice spots maybe to return to when the weather is better.
Hi lights--- some of the driving was stellar, just cruising along a sandy two track with tall Joshua trees almost touching the vehicle. Car camping with no designated spot. Listening to rain on the roof of the Toy while reading.
Strange lights---gas station when entering the preserve. While there a 6 foot tall person in gstring and pasties and thigh high boots and that was all pulling up to get gas. Several other interesting folks then came in. Must have been time in or out at the nearby strip club.
Lo Lights-- all the mines closed off but I did manage on one---- |
