Back to the big mining area. I covered some more territory and verified no more open adits than the ones previous. Did a lot of sliding on my butt with the tall tailings piles. Driving in entertained by some pronghorn so near the road I could've rolled down my window and petted one.
Did the lower levels of the carbide signature tunnel. Took some handline but didn't need it. Ladders were in mostly good shape, one had some broken rungs but I managed to climb around. Lower levels lots of shattered rock and crawling around. Small holes in every direction. I had hoped for a trend to the large workings around the corner but didn't find it.
Visited another site with some new metal netting covering the shaft. For the mine aficionados one can only hope the BLM runs out of money for such or they will only cover the worst offenders. This particular shaft an ATV could get to; where I went they would need a helicopter.
