| no partners | | Blessed with still mild weather; perfect for the scouting trip. Was this an ATV trail or a jeep route? No matter the jeep made short work of it. For once GE gave a pretty accurate overview. I rolled into the car camp, ran around with a camera peering into mud conglomerate palisades, and took a short evening hike highlighted by a hissy gila monster and some more things to explore.
Good night, some blustery blasts but left the Jeep rear hatch open for the cool temps. Woke up late, coffee and gazing into the distances as the sun changed the shadows on the hills. A different route this morning, some clambering in and out of ravines filled with vegetation, alcoves, a painted man, a few scuzzy potholes water, bighorns, dizzying heights, greeeeen trees, warm in the sun but the at times strong wind cool. I saw no way into the canyon I sought, but this puzzle piece terrain probably has some obscure route not revealed at this time. Shredded my new sun shirt. Enjoyed it all and a very pleasant drive out, a place bookmarked in my memory. A 3 day 4 night camp should do it once the amazing temps return. |
