| no partners | | I took advantage of the cool morning to check out the Boulder Canyon trail between the Dutchman trail and Second Water trail. The southern end from the Dutchman trail is completely burned but the burn stops before you get to the Cavalry trail junction. This section was overgrown last year but not trouble seeing the trail now. The rest of the trail from before Cavalry trail to second Water trail is is good shape. I was hoping to find some hidden stuff in the burned section but the only things I saw were campsites and fire rings. I checked the once deep pools in the lower part of Needle Canyon but there is no water there at all. I hiked counter clockwise and stayed out of the sunlight until the turn for Battleship. I didn't see any other hikers until starting up Second Water trail and after that I saw hikers all the way back to the traillhead. A nice hike and I finished before 10:30am while it was still cool. |
