I was feeling good and no one was lagging behind so I kept cruising. The guys got ahead of me up the chute (I was the slow one, stop laughing Denny) we were on Peak 1 at 8:40a. We stopped a few minutes and refueled and headed on to Peak 2 summiting at 9:25a. This was going too easy and the wind was calm up top? On to Peak 3. We started down the east side and Boone & Jonathan took the high road while Tyler and I took the low road. Take the low road. The other guys had to come down the death slide. A few Apache Helicopters came through pretty close at this point which was interesting to see. Tyler & I waited for the daring duo and then continued up to Peak 3 summiting at 11:10a. Still making amazing time we stopped to eat and rest up for Peak 4. The descent off Peak 3 was a bit tricky but we made it work. The climb up Peak 4 had a lot of small trees/shrubs to contend with. These were good for holding on to but painful if you didn't wear long pants. We summited Peak 4 at 12:30p and hung out and enjoyed the view. We made great time but this hiked still kicked our tails. I think I have a route down now that's managable.
Morning after: This is a total body workout. I think every muscle I have is sore. |
