We made the TH at 7a. It was cold out there! After we got moving and the sun came up the weather was perfect. We saw a few rabbits and a white tailed deer coming up Reavis Gap trail. The trail was easy to follow but the elevation gain is a tester. After briefly losing Tortoise Hiker by Reavis Creek we headed to the ranch to look around then up the Fireline trail and stopped for lunch. We continued up to Circlestone, dropped our packs and prepared for the final climb up. We took azpride's advice and stayed to the north side of the ridge making it up with minimal bushwacking. The success was nice and the 360 view rewarding. We made it back down to the Fireline trail by 1p and headed back via campaign trail. The water in Campaign trail was flowing and we had no trouble following the trail despite several creek crossings. We were finally back to the TH at 4p. It's a full day of hiking. |
