| no partners | | A friend and I have been planning an aggressive Fall agenda for months. A challenging route in a diff section of the state each weekend into Nov. This outing had been on my want list for 3 years. Saw a TL recently with a route that encouraged me. Let the games begin!
Easy drive to the outskirts of Prescott Valley. Pavement ends a lil before the TH. Soon realized this is littered with many discarded used condoms. WTH?!
Trails not well marked. Got off track a couple times despite two of us having it mapped out. Yet there's a random "keep dogs on leash" sign?? Steep and rocky in places. Lots of sun exposure.
Bail from the trail for a 1/2 mile to bag peak. This does involve some scrambling and there is a false summit. Chilled at the HP with the breeze.  Made up our own route down a diff route. Continued the loop. Didn't see a single other person. See potential out here.  |
