This outing had been on my want list since Oct 2022. A friend had been wanting to go to the E Supes. Two others were also up for this mega adventure. Met in Tempe at 7:30.

Turn off into Pinto Mine area. Once onto forest land the road grows rougher. There is a drop off on one side. Between Paradise Trail & Myles TH is the roughest patch. Start hike 10 am 37 degrees. Cold hands 1st mile. Jacket off after 2 miles.

We were thrilled by the beauty and solitude. Wildlife tracks and scat. Primarily bear & deer. No human prints. Bull Basin seriously overgrown. Expect to bleed. RF rating of 1 on here clearly needs to be updated. No possible way to justify a rating below 3.

Bout the time I was finally growing tired of getting smacked in the face by vegetation, we hit Haunted Canyon. Steep ascent with switchbacks. Paradise Trail-actually rocky and steep. This eventually gives way to a magnificent stroll. Plus skunks.
