Beautiful monsoony day in the mountains. We started at the San Pedro vista and hooked around to the Brush Corral trail. Lots of mushrooms along the way. Got up and over the Brush Corral trail just as soon as some wicked monsoons rolled in.

Went up to Bear Saddle and enjoyed a delicious lunch of larabars, oreos and ritz crackers. Gorgeous cerulean blue skies and a nice cool breeze on the way up. Awesome afternoon just enjoying the mountains.

I LOVE this hike. It was a beautiful day, a little chilly. I was afraid on top of Wasson it would be too windy but it was blissfully still and sunny on the top. Decided to take the loop back. Can't wait to get back up there.

First time doing this hike. Instead of the loop we decided to back-track since we didn't have a map. Beautiful blue skies and cool temps all day. On top of Wasson we felt an icy northwest wind blowing in so we hustled back down. Great little hike, we will be back!

Started out a little too late up at Gordon Hirabayashi and by the time we got to Hutches Pool it was HOT. I totally wussed out and headed down the Sabino Canyon trail and caught the TRAM :out: . I wont live that one down anytime soon. Beautiful day though at Hutches :) Boyfriend headed back up the East Fork, got the car and picked my sorry butt up at Sabino Canyon.

We started out around 8:30 on the Oracle Ridge Trail. Not my favorite trail, very rocky and slippery on the way down with lots of painful sticker bushes. We then connected down to Catalina Camp and hung out at the cabin for a bit. Someone named "Dr. Daisy" fixed the place up a lot, especially the outside. According to the sign-in sheet he will be back over the winter making improvements. We then headed down the steep lower portion of the Red Ridge trail which got a little confusing towards the intersection of Canada Del Oro. We got turned around a bit but climbed some rocks and found the trail. After that it was a gradual incline up the beautiful Canada Del Oro canyon. Lots of water and fall colors. At the end of the canyon it was a few short but steep switchbacks up to the Samaniego Trail which we were able to find Shovel Springs, which was clear and plentiful. Up, up and up the to the Sutherland Trail then finally up the Mt Lemmon road (which is always lots of fun after hiking all day :? ) We got up around 6:30 and were hoping The Sawmill was open for a burger but they must of just closed.

Great hike, got home and passed out! :FG: :zzz:

Beautiful foggy day on the Butterfly Trail. Tons of wild raspberries!! We started out around 7:30am at the official trailhead then went strait through to Incinerator Ridge where our shuttle car was waiting. We saw an AZ black rattlesnake which was pretty exciting. Great cloud cover the whole hike but not a lot of water flowing in the spring. The trail was very moist and lots of wildflowers are blooming.

We started out around 7:30am and it was 67 degrees!!! By the time we got to WOR we were getting baked by the sun, but soon the monsoon clouds rolled in for some relief just in time for the slog up Lemmon Rock. I've come to love the Lemmon Rock trail even though its a beast the first few times. Perfect loop hike. OH and some water on WOR, woohoo!

:y: YEAH! Finally made it up to Guthrie Mnt! After stopping at Bear Saddle for many hikes thinking "OK next time I will hoof it up to the summit of Guthrie" I had a motivated group with me and we went for it. Nice winds today making up for the relentless sun. I love the climb right before the summit, although coming down was tricky. After we went up to Summerhaven and stuffed our faces. Good day! :)

I wasn't expecting to be hiking up to the saddle but I couldn't NOT do it once I was on the Old Baldy trail. I left my friends in the dust, got up to the saddle and enjoyed a Larabar and some cool breezes. On the way down I found my friends and promptly fell flat on my face. No cuts, a little bruise and a sore hand (which sucks being that I'm a massage therapist). But I iced it all day yesterday, went in the hot tub, iced some more and I'm pretty much better today :) In all the years I've been hiking that is the FIRST time I've ever fallen face first. On my butt all the time but this was a face-plant!

I definitely need to continue on to Wrightson, especially since there is a reliable spring on the way. This summer I will be back ...and hopefully I will be more graceful.

We started at the Incinerator Ridge TH and headed down the gulch. When we reached the bottom we had a snack and filtered some water that was flowing. Lots of caterpillars falling from the trees and landing all over us. We didn't bring another car so we turned around and huffed up the ridge. It wasn't too bad but still a work-out. Lots of dead-fall, caught my leg on a branch while trying to get over a huge tree. Got a pretty awesome bruise that I'm still sporting a week later. Next time I will make sure we have a shuttle to do the whole trail.
