Took a wknd out and back on this section starting at the southern trailhead. I spent
almost an hour going from the parking lot off the hwy to the trailhead by some
dumb roundabout route ! Better off just walking down the highway and jumping the barbed wire.
In any event there was an unamed stream running most of the way, I hiked about 9mi in.
I passed a black rattlesnake going in and almost sat on another rattler going out ! There
was bear hair on the tree sap and what I think is a mountain lion track in the sand, busy place.
Finally I found a bottle of morphine at a campground ! was advised to throw it away.
