| partners | | Nick and I met up along the highway in Preston Country, dumped a truck at the Peeley Trailhead, then headed south to start our hike at Sunflower. The high desert was awake with green grasses and a few wildflowers on this warm late winter's day. North we went on the Arizona Trail, past numerous Mazatzal landmarks and many special places. The brush gauntlet between McFarland Canyon and Thicket Spring drew much blood and cursing. We rolled into the Peeley Trailhead late that afternoon after a full day's adventure then drove back to Sunflower where we parted company. I enjoyed a well earned quesadilla at El Rancho in Payson before heading home over the Rim that night.
Thank you Nick for a kick pumpkin time as always and for helping me complete my first full AZT segment. Let's do some more! |
