Wet Canyon

Drove up the Swift Trail in the early afternoon with no idea where I was going to stop. Arrived at the Wet Canyon bridge and saw that a lot of the snow had melted and decided to try and hike the trail up to Arcadia. Only made it a 1/2 mile in before turning around due to all the snow covered deadfall. 2nd trip here in a row I've been turned back, I'm just going to have to wait till spring to try this one again. Decided that the day was now short and drove back down the mountain stopping at Roper Lake SP to get a few miles in. I lapped the lake a couple of times with 2 loop trips around the Mariah Mesa trail before heading out onto the island to look for the resident great horned owls and watch the sunset. Found one of the owls after sunset perched on a limb eating breakfast!
