We didn't encounter any real issues but there are at least three areas that if you didn't have a keen eye, a good map, and some solid trail directions. You would be in deep trouble. Of course a GPS would work as well. This hike was done with Amy, Laura, and Laura's friend Cory. I drove up Friday night after work and just crashed out in the Jeep near Happy Jack. Laura and Cory were camping at Clint's Well and Amy drove up early Saturday morning. We parked my car at the northern end and took Laura's car back to the southern end and met Amy there. We were off to our fun filled adventure around 8:30.
I was very surprised that there wasn't more tree cover. We were in the woods and forest the whole time but I still managed to get pretty sunburned.
The trail could use some more signs in a couple critical areas and a little less in some not so important places.
I think we saw about a dozen or so Elk. Lots of gates to go through on this section as well. Overall a nice section and I enjoyed the company! |
