Continuing my efforts on the Arizona Trail heading from north to south. Today I had some shuttle help from Pam. I started at the Pigeon Springs Trailhead. I went on my hike while Pam went and did one herself.
The trail on the northern end was overgrown and rocky for several miles. This made for a slow go but it wasn't horrible. Just shy of the Mills Ridge Trailhead I ran into two guys who were scouting the trail for a hike tomorrow from Pigeon Springs. They asked if the trail was difficult to follow. It isn't. Once past Mills Ridge TH the trail finally started to cooperate and I was able to pick up the pace.
In the mean time after her hike Pam went down to Roosevelt and did a little fishing. Phone reception in the area was good so I was able to text her with my ETA. This worked out great for both of us and afterwards we hit up Libby's El Rey in Globe for some Mexican Food. Good stuff!
Thanks for the assist Pam. |
