Pam mentioned Pinto Creek for an autumn meander and my eyes lit up. At the Pinto Creek / FR242 crossing we were shocked to see it dry. Guess it was spring melt back in April. Pam said it was running last December. To be dry a day after 2-3 inches of rain seemed odd.
Just north of the crossing the creek resurfaces on through the box. Somehow I managed to stay dry hopscotching the entire day. We went two thirds through the box to the down climb at the boulders. It was a great day.
Big Daddy's was closed and Pam warned the only other option was nothing special. Perhaps she meant everything but the crispy chicken fried steak at Butcher's Hook... omg it was awesome! |

Autumn Foliage Observation Light A good week late, probably tops out at moderate in prime. |
