this wasn't anything really spectacular. I just wanted to hike instead of my usual jogging on the canal, especially while the weather is still cool enough. The temps stayed around 80 degrees, which made it pretty pleasant. as usual for this area, I saw more bikers than hikers. finished up by 10:30am and grabbed lunch in Fountain Hills for the family on my way home. I followed the new Rock Knob Trail that goes west from the Pemberton Trail into the Scottsdale McDowell Preserve, where it picks up to the northern TH. Looks like a plan for a new hike some time later this year.
