| no partners | | I was awakened this morning by a total stranger peering through the bedroom windows, after opening my eyes a bit more, I recognized it as the sun. In Minnesota and Wisconsin this year, it has become the year that Spring never happened My previous posting on here for a bike ride was May 31st and since that day, we have only had momentary peeks of the sun with most of the days being completely socked in by clouds and rain.
The local weather is for increasing clouds today with rain, possibly heavy, predicted for later in the day. So I figured that I best get riding now or risk getting wet later I headed off towards my favorite back roads through Carlos Avery Game Farm and found the roads to be nicely compacted and slightly damp with no puddles to ride through, Perfect!
It was peaceful back there with only the sounds of my tires kicking up the occasional rock. The pond frogs must have gotten their libido's satisfied because they are silent today, only the birds singing because they too, are excited to see the sun again.
As I paused by a large weed choked pond, I was immediately attacked by a hoard of blood thirsty mosquito's who seemed intent on satisfying their lust for human blood So I jumped on my bike and got back in motion and soon outran the buzzing CRAP, it's that time of year already and they're only going to get worse, guess I gotta break out the insect repelant again. |
