| no partners | | It was showing signs of becoming a beautiful day and I wanted to see if the flowers were blooming yet but I was hoping for a stunning sunrise, so I grabbed my gear and headed out the Peralta Road to the Carney Spring parking area. I hit the trail before sunrise and wouldn't you know it, the clouds that had been so thick earlier, began breaking up. Well, so much for stunning sunrise, how about some sunrise scenery shots to go along with the early bloomers.
The desert is so incredibly green that in places it almost looks like a golf course minus the flags. I took some sunrise shots of Three Sisters rock formation which is always a beautiful sight at the moment the sun first hits the face of the rocks.
The only flowers showing were Mexican Poppies but at this hour, they were all curled up into a tight cylinder. A few Brittle Bush were displaying their yellow petals and some Lupine were fighting their way through the rest of the underbrush. This area is known for exceptional displays of early spring flowers but it might be another week away.
But it was still a good time out there with the birds singing and no one else on the trails at this hour. With the rains forecast for this weekend, we could be in for a flower explosion next week. Keep your cameras ready |
