| no partners | | I thought I'd go out and look for some petroglyphs in Ironwood Forest National Monument. I had a vague idea where to look but it turned out I didn't find any...and I think where I walked was just outside the NM on BLM land. Back at home, looking at my pictures I think I know where to go next time...
BTW, road from Red Rock was closed (swollen Santa Cruz R?), so I came up Silverbell Rd. from the South...nice drive.
Anyway it was nice green desert, relatively open, pretty good walking. Two interesting things to report: 1) Near a hilltop I saw a sky full of swallows (I think) swooping in circles and gathering en masse in a few trees. I didn't notice bugs...no idea what they were up to. 2) passed through an area with very nice chalcedony specimens. Was a little hot... |
