Last minute request from Pam about doing something down in my area for of all things, the holiday weekend. This was in conjunction with a class she was attending at the Desert Museum Saturday evening. The logical choice was Bog Springs, so she wouldn't have a huge drive to and from the class. This worked out very well and we didn't get blasted by any monster storms, though it was tropical storm level humid down there. :o Full blown late summer wet and wonderful conditions prevailed (chiggers and all). She got to see this place at its best! :D

Not many campers Friday night, but full by Saturday afternoon. We got a couple of nice hikes in and enjoyed a fun evening Friday. I grilled a steak Friday evening and had a fine breakfast Saturday before hiking. Had to make a run to Green Valley to get more ice Saturday afternoon as Pam was headed to the Desert Museum. Got lazy and stopped and got pizza, which served as my dinner Saturday night (and breakfast Sunday morning). :) Sat around Saturday evening in the dark drinking beer and eating pizza until about 10 PM, thinking I'd wait for Pam to get back to camp. But decided to call it quits and head for the tent instead, not wanting to disturb the peace when she returned. Right call. The carrying on of others in the campground that evening provided lots of entertainment anyway! The weather was quiet, which was kind of a downer, as it would have been nice to have had a light show thrown in the mix.

Sunday morning, we took our time breaking down camp. Pam was going to go to Patagonia Lake to see a Booby :o , and I suggested she see two other lakes in the vicinity (Parker Canyon & Pena Blanca). That way she could see that fine country down around the Canelo Hills and northwest of Nogales. She followed me through Box Canyon over to highway 83 and down to Sonoita. At this point I realized her photo stops would make this too long of a day for me, so I cut loose and headed home. I'm waiting for more triplogs to see where all she ended up going. So much to see; I'm sure she was blown away by what she saw. :)

I had a blast down there, holiday weekend and all! :y: Hope you did too Pam!
