| no partners | | Got to the mining camp restaurant around 8pm and started our night time hike. Was gorgeous weather with a nice breeze and the occasional sprinkle of rain. The main purpose of this night hike was to find little critters. There were plenty out after it rained. Found multiple toads, tarantulas and mice. Was hoping to spot a rattlesnake but we had no luck. Tried to get pictures of them all but our camera phones were not helping. We did however keep running into this same smaller snake. Was unsure what kind of snake it was so we spent about 5 minutes with this thing trying to get a picture. So I'm posting the pictures of the snake and hopefully someone can shed some light on what it is.
Once you got up to Siphon Draw we were determined to keep going all the way to Flat Iron. Unfortunately we took forever to get up to the Draw and my flashlights were beginning to die. Used my phone as a flashlight for the way down. Got back to the Mining Camp around 11:30. Fun night. Also was my 1st real night hike. |
