Day off from work means I'm going hiking! The road to the trailhead was a bit scary for the last .25 miles in my car. Had to put it in 1st gear going up the last hill. Once the hike started and we descended to the creek I was super excited. The weather was perfect. It wasn't crowded at all and the leaves were falling. At certain points of the hike I thought I was back on the east coat in Connecticut. Loved the trees. Of course reality would slap me in the face as I step past a little cacti. Lots of little caves on the way. Checked out most of them. We went 4.1 miles to the end. This was the only disappointing part for me. We kept pushing towards the end because I thought there was a big payoff but there wasn't. All we got was dry land. No running water and lots of small boulders to walk over. All in all though it was a great hike and trail. Met some nice people on the way back with 2 dogs. Let my guy go with them for a dip in the water. Got back to the car exactly at 5 and had a lot easier time on the road on my way out.
