Cannot believe that I saw ANOTHER desert tortoise - and of all places on this very crowded, busy trail! Tonight was just me with the kids and Caroline's BFF from school and her Mom. I saw two people crouching down and saw something circular moving near them and just totally abandoned my children and ran to see it. Sure enough it was crossing the trail and climbing up the hill pretty fast. He stopped to chomp and chew on some leaves - I got a great picture of him with the crunched leaves on his mouth. I stayed around a while until he/she got way off the trail and mentioned not to pick him up to a few passing hikers.

Two desert tortoises in one month - pretty cool.

Then dinner at PPP - kids got up on stage and provided musical accompaniment.
