I drove my Dad to the airport at 4:00am - and seized the incredibly rare opportunity to get a morning weekend hike in before the kids got up. I was prepared and went straight to Tom's Thumb. Then completely shocked to see the first parking lot half full. I started around 5:50am and sun was up and trail was actually somewhat crowded! Felt so good - around 70 degrees with a little breeze. I felt rebellious and free for the next hour or so. Then back to reality.

Made it to East End junction in 35 minutes - about the same as my pace in winter.
