She doesn't like outdoor stuff or anything that involves exercise - - so I was a little nervous that we might need SAR or something. I gave her two hiking sticks and we had tons of water and food. I was so proud of her making it to the top and even with all the stops to rest - was still so fun to hike with a good friend.
We saw mule deer at the start of the trail - and dozen or so bats swooping around catching bugs. I have one picture of a bat almost swooping on my friend's head!
The most fun part of the hike was being the first car in the parking lot at 4:45 - and seeing the gorgeous dusk colors in the first part of the trail. It took about an hour before there were any other cars. Nice to have the trail to yourself. |
