| no partners | | Took me 38 minutes to finish the initial climb, and a total of 60 minutes to reach Tom's Thumb. It was my first time there and I had the Thumb to myself because it's a Monday. (Thanks, Christopher Columbus! I don't really like him as a historical matter but I'll take the holiday.) The wind was absolutely crazy at the top.
I did see a few small groups of high school kids (again, Columbus) who were trail running. They explored the Thumb and took off into the deeper parts of the park. Watching them from a distance was pretty cool, as a former high school cross country runner. Lucky them to have these trails as their training grounds.
I saw a very small snake and did my best to photograph it, but it was tricky so who knows if the shots will come out.
Obligatory Thumb selfie taken, of course. |
