I had hiked this loop maybe 6-7 years ago, as the first "long" hike I had ever done, and found it quite thrilling that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Since then, I've done longer hikes, but I did want to try this out again.

Well, I seem to remember it being more interesting than it was! LOL. There are some views of Weaver's Needle but this hike doesn't have the most dramatic needle viewpoints. I thought I might see Battleship Mountain towards Boulder Canyon...nope. Or Four Peaks. Nope. All obscured by other land formations. There are some nice canyons, interesting rock formations, and clearly some water when water is flowing...many wash crossings that were dry for me on this hike.

Anyway...it's a nice hike...just not the most exciting. Maybe next time I'll take the route through Boulder Canyon instead of over Black Mesa and see what that does for me!
