| no partners | | I originally intended to drive up to Telegraph Pass and wander out the National Trail to the junction of Pyramid Trail because the evening was SO nice, and SO clear...but then found out the Summit Road was closed for repairs. Thus, the Kiwanis Trail was my old standby.
Because of the closure, it was far busier than normal (at 5:45pm). With a bunch of people who have no business being on the trail at dusk...two different groups with older relatives who needed help walking back down the trail. Doing this with very low light was asking for trouble. Anyway, I made good time up to Telegraph Pass and back, taking a few pics at the pass.
I will say that I hadn't been up here since September's flooding, and MAN some water has gone through this canyon. I think the trail was rerouted for short stretches and you could see the debris and sediment in places it wasn't before. Light was too low for good pics (you'll see in the few pics I took). I think my two GPS tracks show very subtle changes in the location of the trail in places. |
