Well I've been wanting to try this one for a while! I really enjoyed it. Views were spectacular for most of the hike route....really clear out today.

I do want to comment on something I hadn't seen recently in any triplogs. This hike has a significant downhill and uphill (1100' roughly). It's pretty steep if you start of counterclockwise from the day use area at the viewpoint. On this hike, there were many sections of the downhill which had very loose rock and soil. I was very glad to have a hiking pole with me. This trail is rarely more than 12" wide at any point, and it's on the side of steep hill, so generally you want to keep your footings as solid as possible.

I apologize for forgetting to turn on Route Scout for the first 1/4 mile :o

Thistle and hollyhocks were beautiful today!
