| no partners | | Wanted to get a taste of Guadalupe Ridge. Started out on the roller-coaster that is the Marcos de Niza Trail. But with an injured shoulder from a few weeks ago, I didn't want to risk falling and doing more damage. At the west end of the trail, the drop-off of 116' in .09 of mile was too steep to be safe. More of the same on the Guadalupe? Didn't know. So I headed down into Beverly Canyon and came back to the TH by way of Pima Wash which was lit up with the brilliant yellow of the palo verde. Found a stand of blooming ocotillo there too, but none had leaves. Never noticed that on an ocotillo before. Enjoyable outing despite the 80-something degree temps. |
