| no partners | | Busy day, but managed to squeeze in a late afternoon hike. The parking lot was about 3/4 full, but I didn't really see anyone more than a mile from in from the trailhead. It was quite the interesting assortment of hikers today, though. I think the oddest was the roughly 30 yr old hipster smoking a pipe while wearing a corduroy jacket that was at least ten years older than him. And after today, I think I've finalized my "Hiking Fashion for Men" rules:
1) Do not wear spandex shorts or pants. I've seen a ton of the pants on men lately. Just don't. And if you do, stick to black, because all other colors are see through once they get wet/sweaty.
2) Don't wear a kilt. I see this fairly often, and it makes no sense to me. But I'd love to know WHY it's a thing.
3) Don't wear high-water pants. If your socks are visible above your shoes while you're walking, your pants are too short. An extra inch goes a long way.
4) No cologne. But an extra swipe of the deodorant is always appreciated.
5) No man-buns. Long hair is okay, but women should not be wondering if your hair accessories and styling abilities are better than hers.
Rant over...
It was a good hike though. The rain this week made the air smell really nice. I wished I'd had time for a longer hike today. |
