| no partners | | After being diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis and beginning to work out the pain, I wanted to take a short hike keeping the difficulty level low, so I headed for First Water TH and headed down the trail. I veered off on the Second Water trail keeping a slow pace and concentrating on the nice weather and the quiet. As I approached the unnamed wash where the trail goes uphill to Garden Valley, I left the trail and continued up the wash.
I wasn't too sure how far I was going to go but I just kept working my way through the wash, through some boulders and patches of brush. As I continued on, I was seeing fewer footprints in the sand so there aren't too many hikers heading up here. The dry wash was easy to follow and presented some nice scenery as I continued on up, occasionally I had to detour around a deep, water-filled hole but was able to get back to the wash quickly.
I knew the wash would cross the Dutchman Trail (104) somewhere around Parker Pass so after going far enough, I kept heading for the pass, and sure enough I exited the wash just short of the Parker. I took a short break and inventoried my knees and foot and everything was working fine with only slight pain so I headed back to the Trailhead. Overall, it was an enjoyable bushwhack up a Creek with no name.... so now I call it "Upa Creek" and I didn't even need a paddle
