| no partners | | I went out this morning just for a walk-about in the foothills, but as I hit the trail from the Mining Camp, a helicopter landed at the pad at the LDSP. I slowed my pace ( ) and kept watching to see what was going on over there, and before long I realized that I was on my way up Siphon Draw.
The trail was packed at the 0900 hour and I kept an eye on the helicopter but decided that it was only a training day for the rescue personnel. I thought I might as well hit the Basin and back for a morning workout. My Plantar Fasciitis has been improving so let's see what happens on this trail. I continued heading up-trail, getting passed by the younger more ambitious summit seekers, but with my slower, but steady, pace I was soon passing them as they were taking a breather alongside the trail.
The trail was damp and the air was cool & fresh following last night's drenching and my foot wasn't a problem so I just plodded along. I made my turn at the Basin and began my return but I could hear another helicopter and it sounded like it was in "No Name Canyon" and it was there for a long time.... haven't heard of any incidents in No Name
When I got close to LDSP, the helicopter began to lift off so I got the Canon zoom-zoom working and took some shots of it's slow lift. I could see a cable hanging below the copter and soon I could see a couple of guys in a harness at the end of the long rope. The copter hovered for several minutes with the guys hanging so it must have been a refresher training for the rescue guys
