We made a last minute decision on the way up towards the rim and it turned out great. 9L, Claire, Lily, and me enjoyed fantastic weather and a couple more miles than we had intended for the day. They are still rerouting so much of the area-- this trail is different every year I do it. They are also building a new trail into Pine Creek from the 87. They had a crew of volunteers working on a massive bridge across the creek. We headed out towards "Deep Pools" and "Darling Rocks" for lunch. We headed back out pretty quickly-- we may have skipped a few dozen of the new switchbacks. We got some quick dinner at THAT Brewery and headed home.
