This was a good short hike, we didn't go to the top though. we will have to plan another trip for that. The hike to Elephant Head is rather non eventful except when you get to Chino Canyon and the trail heads down to the bottom. All the time you know once down you have to climb back out. I remember looking to see if there was an easier way, there isn't. The bottom of the canyon did have one benefit, the water in the stream was cool and wet. The climb out wasn't as bad as the trek down into the canyon. Great view from the base of Elephant Head, probably a magnitude better on top.
