Hiked Little Ash Creek off Dugas Rd. back on March 13. Weather was just warm enough that hiking thru the creek was perfect and refreshing. It was 4-5 days after the area had some nice rain so it seemed all the springs were flowing and side canyons had water in them too. Started off very muddy and crappy (literally cow crap everywhere)at the beginning but farther down the creek it was much more pristine and the water looked amazing. Hiked down to a fence that crossed the canyon but decided to cross it and later found out it was still forest land so we were in the clear. After the fence the water cleared up more and saw some big pools of this very cool blue tinted water. Saw a couple bluegill in them too! On the way back encountered a young cow that was oblivious to us until we were 10 yds away even with us talking and letting him know we were there. Saw my dog Riley and seemed to perk up and get a little pissed and take a few steps towards us 8-[ 8-[ I had my baby strapped to my chest and it concerned us so we booked it up a cliff and got out of there. Other than that a great beautiful easy hike along a beautiful riparian area and stream.
