Really starting to mess around with the route scout app and its awesome. Creating routes and how easy it is to post makes it really helpful. Just did a little forest road walk in the Sierra Anchas. It was our first time in this mountain range and it really impressed. The drive up to our start point was pretty good. Fr 71 and fr 609 were smooth sailing but towards the last few miles it can get uncomfortably rocky for some and definitely was a lot steeper than it appeared. (Driving up it didn't feel that steep but coming back down you realize it was very steep! Actually proud of my 2wd truck for only losing traction a couple of times)

The hike itself was wonderful. I think most maps said the road we walked on was fr 609. We saw 2 utvs at the very beginning and then didn't see another soul the whole time. That sun was brutal at times but luckily much of road had good shade. I love me some Forest. But it almost felt like mid June at times its scary how fast summer is coming :o I'm gonna take a wild guess that Sierra Ancha's like most of Arizona had a very dry winter? It was so parched up there. Anyway it was fun exploring a new mountain range and can't wait to be back !

Just above fr 609 there was a little pool that was teeming with bees. It was a good sized pool of clear water but don't see a spring marked on the map.
