I headed up the Bell Rock pathway already snapping the first of many pictures. I decided on the ccw direction and was glad I did as the morning sun provided some great color on the rocks. I made my way across the dry creek bed (a beautiful area) and continued on stopping for a break after 2 hours not far inside the wilderness boundary. The changing views of Courthouse Butte were awesome to look at and photograph. I passed by Submarine Rock then after awhile the back of Cathedral Rock came into view.I carried on. It was a little warm now and I was tiring some. soon I turned and Bell Rock returned into view. I made my way past then around the iconic formation and soon reacquired the sight of Courthouse Butte. I returned to my car at the now very full parking area tired but with a sense of accomplishment. my only disappointment was not seeing and cactus blooms along the way. A great hike that I highly recommend! |
