| no partners | | I was looking for an easy workout hike and a training hike for an upcoming R2R hike, so I opted to go to Mount Ord from the Slate Creek TH. The hike is entirely on forest roads, and although FR 27 has quite a few ruts in it, the hiking is generally easy on your feet.
There is nothing really remarkable about this hike, but there are some nice views at the top and on the way back down.
I was surprised that there was hardly anyone on the trail -- we only encountered 3-4 people and there were no cars up on top. I did this hike last spring, and there were so many people on the trail that I almost thought that I was going up Camelback.
There was no fall color to speak of on the hike.
The only wildlife was a tarantula on the trail and a large grey squirrel. I did see some deer tracks in the mud on the trail though. |
