Even though I visited the same time last year I knew the foliage show would be early but figured there would be some nice “hot spots” but this place is still so green with quite literally no maples at all showing their Autumn glory just yet.
Still had a great time out here pounding ground in nasty canyons exploring a diversity of unique unspoiled terrain and solitude that resides here.
Pitter patter of sprinkles all day that maybe only at one point picked up enough actually call it rain other than that it was eerily perfect hiking weather.
Had to detour away from what I’m sure was a treed up mountain lion as there was a pack of dogs just going off for nearly 45 minutes in one of the canyons we were headed into.
I ran into a lion hunter out in the area last year and know quite a few locals that run dogs in the area and have heard it’s quite the adrenaline rush which I can only imagine as being within a half mile enough to get my heart rate elevated.
