| no partners | | A nice little 7 mile loop in the good ol’ TB Wildlife quiet area which apparently got plenty of “noise” this Saturday.
Along with the route provided I did three other hikes into the area with different points of entry and interest which I included in the stats.
I always see plenty of bear scat during my hikes on the rim but after coming across a few piles that were literally warm I knew we were bound to see something and sure enough encountered a young curious black bear in one of the side canyons who hung out for a bit before lazily trotting out of the canyon.
Hiking temperatures were great, winds picked up heavy in the flats and ridges but the draws, ravines and canyons were nice and quiet.
For the first time ever in all my trips here I surprisingly ran into other people while hiking, a couple kind hunters on the search but other than that it was pure solitude as usual.
Spooked a couple cow elk and glassed up a couple small sheds but other than that I never saw any bucks or bulls besides the ones on the road earlier in the morning.
Autumn in Arizona is the best, after a pleasant day hiking Hurricane Rosa brought the goods overnight and we awoke to a Winter Wonderland on Sunday.
