| no partners | | Mainly looking for wildflowers on this trip. Wanted to do most of the hike and then hop on over to the road where the elusive White Poppies are located in some locations.
It was windy, cold and rainy most of the trip, Even hailed on us for a little while. Flowers are going pretty good, but as you can imagine, the flowers that typically open during the day were all closed. We did spot a few white poppies on the trail, but most are located on the road if you continue past the Rattlesnake Cove turn-off.
Even though my wife was quite miserable, I enjoyed the hike and when the sun broke out from behind the clouds it was great.
In 2017 about this time of year we hiked here, and spotted some Buzzards and an golden eagle.. No luck with that this time.
This is a great casual hike to do during the week when there aren't so many people. We were lucky enough not to see any other hikers today... not to surprising, the weather was not so great for hiking. |
