My friend said she knew where the poppies were, and she did. In this part of the world, most areas do not have any poppies at all. Over around Needles we've seen a lot of lupine, scorpion weed, and some yellow flowers I don't know the name of. But no poppies. So we went hiking near Boundary Cone, a volcanic plug type mountain. Just walking around on the Jeep roads was good enough. Nice day, and plenty of poppies.
