| no partners | | I've always preferred this trail to the Bill Williams Mountain trail. It's more open, there are occasional views, and there are fewer people. I saw one hiker. It was a perfect day. I started at 7 a.m. When I reached the summit, unlike other times, it wasn't windy or chilly. I sat and ate my lunch by the fire tower. This time I didn't go up into the tower, and am not sure if the current occupant wants company, anyway. In the past there was a guy who would call down to you to come on up, because he loved to chat with hikers.
Flowers I noticed were: Yellow columbines, wild roses, Indian paintbrush, some sort of penstemon, and something that looked like sweet alyssum and had lots of bees on it.
I saw elk tracks, no elk. |
