I was looking for a hike where I could get some miles without it being a real workout. This area is always great for that.

We headed down Turkey to the confluence with Beaver, but then cut west over to Open where I finally got to take some time and enjoy what I had mostly missed while dodging flash-bang lightning strikes the first time through. The lower section has some deadfall but also a couple of nice little waterfalls and pools. The upper part is just a pleasant meadow.

Two minutes after we got back to the truck, Team Buford™ happened to be driving by on the road, making the task of figuring out how to find their camp as easy as possible. Then the real fun started...

	Springbox was dry, and no sign of spring source, but plenty of standing pools in the vicinity, with clear running water 100 yards downstream.
