| no partners | | | Had an off trail destination, but I did not get out of the house in a timely manner so just drove and explored short distances out of the Jeep. An old favorite I did not hike, low water, although the area green the pools not impressive. Onto another area, a tough short section of road I had not driven, steep and loose, a challenge with 4wd and then my favorite; narrow track cut into a cliff face, hoping I would not meet border patrol as no place to turn around and not much backing up safely potential. Got to the desired tank but this area is complicated and I will have to be careful here when I try this hike not to get turned around. In my mind the road was headed in a good direction but in fact when it turned past the tank was going in the opposite from where I needed to go. Will come back with a map and a better plan. Found some old adobe ruins melting away and that area kept me occupied for a while. A lot of history in this area, no matter how many times I come down here see something new. |
