Nice cool day, I wore a long sleeve the entire hike. The trail was a little overgrown but not too bad. Walked through several campsites along the way as they set up camp right on the trail. Going up one creek bed we stumbled across a dead rattler. It was still soft so I suspect it was recent, maybe dropped buy a bird the way it was laying across the boulder. On the return we stopped by the Periz Homestead since it has been a while. We walked right by it on the first pass without seeing it but spotted it when we retraced our steps. The trailhead was full when we returned.
